My Review:
4 Stars!

** I received a free eCopy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I knew going in that there would be some erotica mixed in. I wouldn't consider myself a prude, by anyone's standards, but full blown erotica isn't usually my thing. What IS my thing is historical fiction and this book definitely delivers on that front with just enough sci-fi thrown in to keep it interesting.

Guy Moore is a 40 year old SHROAG agent from the year 2023. SHROAG stands for Specialized, Heredity, Reassurance as an Operative for Artificial insemination, and a Gate turner to the trade industry-- for those of you who didn't know. Guy's job as a SHROAG agent is to travel back in time and impregnate different women throughout history to ensure the births of certain historical figures. And Guy takes his job very seriously! Simply put, he's the best at what he does. As it turns out, being a SHROAG agent is much more physically draining than one would think and Guy is ready for retirement. The agency, however, has one more job for Guy before he retires. His Target: Anne Boleyn. His Mission: Ensure the birth of Elizabeth I by impregnating Anne Boleyn before 6 months is up, without breaking agency rules. Namely, falling in love with the target. Guy isn't the first SHROAG agent to attempt this mission but it should be a piece of cake for a professional like Guy, right?

I really liked this book. I thought the author did an amazing job of intermixing three very different genres (historical fiction, erotica, and sci-fi). Seducing Anne is the first book I've read by Chanse Lowell and I wasn't disappointed. The relationships, the time period, the storyline, all seemed very well written. The characters were interesting and likeable, which probably isn't easy to do when you're writing about someone like Henry VIII. Guy was a little too cocky and arrogant for my tastes but you can't deny the man has swagger and sizzle. The sex scenes weren't over the top. Though, if I'm being honest, some of the terminology did grate on me a bit but that's probably to be expected considering I already stated erotica isn't usually my genre of choice.

Also, I'd like to point out that the little cliffhanger at the end was very well done, in my humble opinion. Where most authors would be winding down and tidying things up, Chanse Lowell was winding back up and managed to find a way to satisfactorily end the book and still make me want to see what happens in the next. Not enough to make me want to bang my head against a wall, we've all experienced those, but just enough to keep me wanting more.

I was very pleased when I got to the end of this book and realized it's a series. All in all, I thought this was a VERY cool book and I'm VERY much looking forward to the next installment!

 About The Author:

Chanse was born in the desert southwest and still lives there with her husband, children, and pet cactus. She's addicted to three things: reading erotica, writing erotica, and sandwiches with a side of erotica to aid with digestion. She grew up watching programs with science fiction and historical fiction themes, and is determined she can combine her three favorite genres, creating a new breed of novel with scifi, historical, and smut sandwiched in the middle.

The last thing she ever thought she'd do is pursue her dream to be a writer since her family tends to keep her busy.  When she was first introduced to fan fiction, she realized she wanted to see more science fiction and historical fiction to fill in the gap with lots of naughtiness thrown in, of course. Her true passion is creating her own words from scratch, letting her imagination go and take her to another place.
