Best Served Chilled was a haunting story. It is not easy to hook a reader in less than 100 pages and leave them wanting more but Zoe Adams has succeeded in doing just that. I could give you my own synopsis, throw in some fantastic drink puns, but instead I will just say this... READ THIS NOVELLA! You will not regret it. It is chilling. It is unique. It is fantastic. It is the perfect mix of horror and erotica.

Zoe Adams had me hanging on her every word and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

I need a bigger star scale. I would give this book so many more stars if I were only able.

Best Consumed Within was absolutely epic but I expected no less from Zoe Adams.

Hiraku is now a ward in a psychiatric institution after her fiasco at the office. Shoichi still visits her regularly. Still manipulating her actions and her conversations. Still making her, well...crazy. Hiraku hasn't had a visitor since she entered the hospital. Where is her mother? Where is Ed? She craves human interaction. Through the advice of a kind orderly named Jeremy, Hiraku starts using the hospital's gym to run again. As she gets stronger and feistier, Shoichi starts to change. He becomes kinder. More gentle. More human even. But is it for real or just another one of the demon's clever games?

I loved this book! Loved everything about it. I was not a fan of novellas before I started reading Zoe Adams' books. There's just no way an author can make it worth my while in so few pages, right? Wrong! Zoe Adams is an amazing storyteller and she never fails to wow me. I will read anything she writes. In 50 pages (according to my kindle), she grabbed my attention so completely and didn't let it go the entire time.

The characters in this series are so enthralling. I can't get enough of them. I want Hiraku to find a way to get rid of her demon once and for all because I love her as a character but at the same time I don't because that would mean the end of Shoichi and I'm just not ready to say goodbye to him yet. Demon or not, he's hot!

And the ending... Zoe Adams, please tell me there is going to be a third book in this series?! I have to know what happens next!

Everyone, do yourselves a favor and buy this series. Start at the begin and read it all the way through. You will love it!

**4.5 Well-Deserved Stars**

Felicia Tatum does it again with Unveiled Ties, the continuation of Dane and Korah's story. I thought this was an excellent addition to the series.

Dane, the playboy, has been haunted by the vision of Angel Eyes ever since the Halloween party. He doesn't even know her name but he knows she's different. The new semester is upon us and so with it comes a new Dane. He's even dressing differently just in case he runs into her on campus. And he will run into her. He can feel it in his gut. And when he does, he'll be ready.

Korah has also been haunted by her mysterious masked man, Zorro. She acted out of character that night and she's ashamed of herself but that doesn't stop her from thinking about him night and day. The only problem is, she doesn't even know who he is.

This novella was quite well written. Dare I say, even better written than the first one. We get to see more of the same characters we loved from the first book. It was interesting and flowed nicely. It was a very fast read, less than 50 pages, so you have plenty of time to fit it in while you're cooking dinner or waiting for your kids at the bus stop.

While I didn't find myself liking Dane's character any more in this book than I did in the last, I did gain a little more respect for Korah' s character, though she does seem to have a bit of a self control problem. And the ending... fantastic! Felicia Tatum couldn't have ended this one any better if she had tried. Now I MUST read the next one to see what happens. 

I highly recommend this novella to any fans of the series or to anyone who enjoys a good fast story that will grab them from the first page and not let them go until the very end.

Understanding dawned in Dr. Devya’s light brown eyes. “You think Nadia might actually harm Ashlynn?” He looked disturbed by his own question. “That would be totally against her programming.” He sounded like the very idea violated some fundamental law of nature.

With most of her anger already spent, Dr. Carnasis just seemed tired. “We should be prepared for anything. Obviously, dropping into a coma wasn’t exactly planned for either.”

“True,” Dr. Devya admitted. He narrowed his eyes in deep concentration. “Should we try a hard wire?”

AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
1) Q:  Can you tell us about your book, Must Love Otters, in 15 words or less? 
EG:  A silly, feel-good story about a girl who goes looking for otters and finds her heart instead.
(Crap, that’s 18 words. I lose.)

2) Q: Is this a standalone or a series?
EG:  We wrote it as a standlone. But we have talked about what happens next with Hollie and Ryan...

3) Q: Did anything specific inspire you to write Must Love Otters?
EG:  I’ve spent the last few years working on a very serious YA book with heavy themes and sadness and dark stuff. I needed something light and fluffy that would make people laugh. Mr. Gordon and I spend a lot of time trying to crack each other up, so it was a natural progression to try to make other people giggle too.

4) Q:  That cover is adorable! Who designed it?
EG:  Sarah Hansen of Okay Creations. She’s quite talented, as you can see.

5) Q:  What was your favorite scene to write?
 EG:  That’s tough -- probably the last one. I’m a sucker for a happy ending.

6) Q: What was the hardest scene to edit out?
 EG: We took out a storyline that had to do with Hollie’s absent mother. That was sort of sad because I wanted to show that side of Hollie’s life, the one that didn’t ooze happiness, but my agent felt it changed the tone of the story too much. He was right. As usual.

7) Q:  Did any music inspire you while writing Must Love Otters?
EG:  I’m a movie score junkie. I have specific sets that I listen to depending on what I’m writing. For rom-coms, I listen to film scores from romantic comedies as the music is light and whimsical. Movie score composers are very skilled at marrying music to emotion, and this is of great benefit to me.

8) Q:  If you could cast anyone to play some of the main characters, who would you choose?
EG:  For Ryan? Henry Cavill, known around these parts as vitamin Henry. (Poor Mr. Gordon.) Another actor who inspired me greatly during the writing process was Peter Mooney, an adorable Canadian actor who most folks probably know from Camelot (Kay) or Rookie Blue (Nick Collins). I don’t have an actress in mind for Hollie, to be honest, although her behavior and attitude and general messiness were modeled around Kristen Wiig’s character Annie in Bridesmaids. 

9) Q:  What are you currently working on?
EG:  Our next book, of course! I’m superstitious, though. I won’t talk about a project until the first draft is close to completion. Not great for marketing, but my neuroses overrule me.

10) Q:  What is currently in your TBR pile?
EG:  Ohhhhh man, that is a huge pile. I read all over the place, pretty much all genres -- um, I’m reading a Sophie Kinsella (Remember Me?), and I have another three of her books waiting. I tend to read several books at a time -- my mood will dictate that evening’s reading -- so I’m midway through Rage Within, a fantastically dark, post-apocalyptic creepfest and The Book Thief (I have to finish it before seeing the movie). Oh, and the first Game of Thrones book. Slowly, slowly. I’ve got so many books sitting here, we could probably build ourselves a home out of their bindings.



 FUN FACTS ABOUT ELIZA GORDON:

1) Q: Chocolate or Vanilla?
EG: Definitely chocolate. Unless it’s a milkshake. Then vanilla.

2) Q: Pizza or Tacos?
EG: Tacos, if I could get them from a authentic, grade-A food truck in Los Angeles. That was my biggest shock of moving to western Canada -- virtually NO Mexican food. *sad face*

3) Q: Cats or Dogs?
EG: Cats x 1000%. Mr. Gordon concurs. We’re those weird, talk-to-the-cat-like-it’s-human people.
4) Q: Favorite TV show?
EG: GAME OF THRONES. Forever.

5) Q:  Favorite movie?
 EG: EVER? Probably the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I know, total nerd. But Shakespeare in Love, Gladiator, Kick-Ass, and Welcome to the Punch round out the top five. 
6) Q: Favorite singer/band?
EG:  Sia. Or Florence + the Machine. Or Imogen Heap. And Muse. And Mumford & Sons. Or Death Cab for Cutie. Or Regina Spektor. OMG. I don’t even know. Do you want my list of favorite movie score composers? HANS ZIMMER. There. I listed ONE. :) Mr. Gordon would have to say Van Halen. (Don’t giggle at him. He’s sensitive.)
7) Q: Favorite Christmas ornament?
EG:  A ceramic ornament I painted years ago of my Best Cat Ever, Kovu. (RIP, buddy.)

8) Q: Biggest Pet Peeve?
EG:  Disingenuous people. I cannot abide fakery.

 9) Q: Celebrity Crush
EG:  MARK STRONG. And Henry Cavill. (For Mr. Gordon, he wouldn’t kick Salma Hayek outta bed for eating crackers.) 
10) Q: Hermione and Ron or Hermione and Draco?
EG:  Hermione and Ron. I’m old-fashioned. Although I think Draco is likely a good guy under all that meanness ...
